Facing Our Giants with Faith – Walking Worthy of Our Calling

In the electrical industry, we face challenges every day. Some are visible—tight deadlines, difficult sites, faulty installations, pressure from clients. Others are quieter but heavier—temptation to take shortcuts, discouragement when hard work goes unnoticed, and moments where doing the right thing feels costly.

The Bible often speaks about giants, not just as physical enemies, but as obstacles that stand between us and obedience to God. Giants of fear, compromise, pride, fatigue, and even loneliness.

Facing Giants with Faith

When David stood before Goliath, he was young, overlooked, and underestimated. Yet his confidence didn’t come from his size or skill—it came from his faith.

“The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”
1 Samuel 17:37

David didn’t deny the size of the giant. He simply knew that God was bigger.

In our work, giants often show up as:

  • Pressure to rush instead of doing it properly

  • Temptation to ignore a fault because “no one will see it”

  • Fear of losing a job by standing firm on safety and compliance

Faith doesn’t mean the giant disappears. Faith means we step forward anyway, trusting God with the outcome.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7

Walking Worthy of Your Calling

Being an electrician is more than a trade—it’s a responsibility. Lives, homes, and livelihoods depend on the choices we make.

Scripture reminds us:

“I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”
Ephesians 4:1

Walking worthy means:

  • Choosing integrity over convenience

  • Choosing safety over speed

  • Choosing truth even when it costs you

Even when no one is watching.
Even when no one applauds.
Even when it feels unfair.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Colossians 3:23

God sees the unseen. He honors obedience done in silence.

Doing the Right Thing When No One Notices

Some of the hardest moments are when you do everything right—and nothing seems to come from it. No recognition. No thanks. No immediate reward.

But Scripture gives us this encouragement:

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9

Every correct decision, every honest COC, every safe installation is a seed planted. The harvest may not be immediate, but it will come.

“The integrity of the upright guides them.”
Proverbs 11:3

Remember This

Giants don’t fall because we are strong.
They fall because God is faithful.

When you face pressure this week—on site, in business, or in your personal life—stand firm. Walk worthy. Choose right. Trust God.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God goes with you.”
Joshua 1:9

💭 Thought for the Week
