Raising Sons, Building Men

Raising Sons, Building Men – A Father’s Responsibility

Yesterday we celebrated Fathers, and today we honour the Youth. What a powerful moment to reflect on the bridge between these two: the sacred responsibility of fathers to raise the next generation.

In a world that often blurs the lines of identity and purpose, it is the role of fathers to anchor their sons in truth. Not only by providing, but by investing—time, wisdom, correction, prayer, and above all, example.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

As electricians pass down tools and techniques from master to apprentice, so too must fathers pass on life skills, godly character, and spiritual truths. A young man becomes a strong man not just by age, but by being mentored through discipline, respect, humility, and responsibility.

The transfer is not only in knowledge, but in courage to lead, patience to learn, and faith to trust in God.

“And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4

Let us also remember that no father walks alone. We have the perfect model of fatherhood in our Heavenly Father—always present, always patient, always powerful.

He never grows tired, never gives up, and never fails.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” – 1 John 3:1

So today, whether you're a dad raising a young man, a mentor guiding an apprentice, or a son still learning to walk the path—look up. Our Father in Heaven walks with you, and He is the ultimate source of strength, wisdom, and love.
