Slow Down, Electrician
🛑 Slow Down, Electrician — There Is Wisdom in Steady Steps
This week’s inspiration comes from Book of Proverbs 19:2:
“Desire without knowledge is not good—how much more will hasty feet miss the way!”
Other translations say:
“He who hastens with his feet sins.”
In a world that pushes speed, productivity, and “get it done now,” God reminds us of something powerful:
Fast is not always faithful.
Busy is not always wise.
⚡ Electricians Understand This Principle
As electricians, we work in environments where rushing can cost you:
-
A wrong connection
-
A missed earth
-
A loose termination
-
A forgotten lock-out
Speed without careful attention leads to mistakes. And in our industry, mistakes can be dangerous.
But Proverbs 19 isn’t only talking about physical movement. It’s talking about life decisions, reactions, words, and direction.
👣 Slow Feet = Wise Direction
When your feet move too fast:
-
You say things you regret.
-
You make business decisions emotionally.
-
You take shortcuts.
-
You react instead of respond.
-
You move ahead without asking God.
God is not in a hurry.
And when we walk with Him, we don’t have to rush either.
🛠️ What Does “Slow Down” Look Like for an Electrician?
1️⃣ Slow down before you speak
When a client is frustrated…
When a supplier delays…
When a team member makes a mistake…
Pause. Breathe. Respond with wisdom.
2️⃣ Slow down before you sign
Before accepting a contract.
Before entering a partnership.
Before buying expensive equipment.
Pray first. Think twice. Move once.
3️⃣ Slow down on site
Double-check.
Test properly.
Label correctly.
Work safely.
Excellence takes time.
🌅 Even Jesus Walked — He Didn’t Run
Throughout the Gospels, Jesus walked from place to place. He stopped for people. He noticed interruptions. He allowed delays.
He was never rushed — yet He fulfilled every assignment.
When we rush, we often step outside of God’s timing.
When we slow down, we step into His wisdom.
🔥 The Hidden Danger of Rushing
Rushing often comes from:
-
Fear of missing out
-
Fear of losing money
-
Fear of falling behind
-
Pride
-
Impatience
But faith allows you to walk steadily.
Remember:
A steady electrician builds a lasting reputation.
A steady man builds a strong family.
A steady believer builds a life on solid ground.
💡 TDMI Electrician Challenge This Week
Before you act, ask yourself:
-
Am I rushing?
-
Have I prayed about this?
-
Have I checked properly?
-
Am I moving in wisdom or pressure?
Let your feet slow down — not because you are weak,
but because you are wise.
🙏 Prayer for This Week
“Lord, slow my steps where I am rushing ahead.
Give me wisdom instead of haste.
Teach me to move in Your timing and not my pressure.
Let my work reflect excellence and my life reflect peace.
Amen.”
