Stay Plugged In – The Power of Recharging with God
In the life of an electrician, power is everything. We understand the importance of a live connection, a full charge, and a well-maintained tool. No matter how high-tech or capable a tool is, if its battery runs flat, it becomes useless. The same applies to us.
Just like your cordless drill or tester can only go so far before needing a recharge, so can you.
We often push ourselves to the limit — working long hours, solving problems, running on deadlines, and meeting demands. It’s easy to forget that even the best of us needs to pause, rest, and most importantly, recharge from the true Source — God.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28,
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
God never intended for us to operate on empty. He designed us to live connected to Him, constantly drawing strength, wisdom, peace, and direction. When we disconnect from that relationship, we begin to run on spiritual fumes. That’s when burnout, stress, and confusion creep in — just like a tool that starts misfiring when it’s low on battery.
Here are 3 ways to stay charged and ready:
1. Plug in Daily
Start your day with Him. Whether it’s through prayer, worship, or reading the Word, make it a habit to stay connected. Just like plugging in your tool after use, make it a non-negotiable part of your routine.
2. Rest Intentionally
God Himself rested after creating the universe. Not because He needed to, but to set an example. Taking time to pause doesn’t make you weak — it makes you effective. Rest sharpens your focus and renews your strength.
3. Let God Do Maintenance
Sometimes we don't just need a recharge — we need repair. Let God reveal the areas in your life that need healing or adjustment. He is the Master Technician, and He knows how to restore your soul.
You can’t give your best if you’re running on empty.
Whether you’re climbing into a roof, inspecting a DB board, or quoting a client — make sure you’ve spent time recharging with the Lord.
Because at the end of the day, the tool is only as effective as the power behind it.
So plug in. Stay connected. And go light up the world.
