Test All Things, Keep the Good

Monday Inspiration for Electricians: Test All Things, Keep the Good

In our trade, testing is not an optional step – it is the foundation of safety, quality, and trust. Before energizing a circuit, we test. Before signing off a Certificate of Compliance, we test. Even when we think everything looks fine, we know that unseen faults can remain hidden unless we take the time to test properly.

God’s Word reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:21: “Test all things; hold fast what is good.”
This is not only a principle for electrical work but also for life itself.

In your work: Every wire, every connection, every breaker should be tested. The good results bring peace of mind, and the bad results warn us of danger. When we correct the faults and keep the good, we deliver safe installations that protect lives.

In your life: Every choice, friendship, opportunity, or thought should be tested against God’s Word. Some things may look good on the outside, but only by testing them in prayer and truth do we know what to hold onto and what to let go of.

In your faith: Testing helps you discern what is true and lasting. By keeping the good, you build a strong foundation – just as a well-tested circuit ensures steady power.

As electricians, let us not rush through the process. Take time to test thoroughly, both in your work and in your walk with God. When you find what is good, pure, and true – hold onto it firmly. That is where real strength and safety lie.

This week, may you be reminded: Do the test, keep the good, and let the light of God shine through your work and your life.
