The Greatest Rule – LOVE
⚡️The Greatest Rule – LOVE
When it comes to electricity, rules and regulations are everything. From safety standards to wiring codes, every decision must be made according to the book. But even in our industry, we know there’s always that one principle that carries more weight than all the rest — whether it’s safety, responsibility, or integrity.
Likewise, in the Kingdom of God, Jesus revealed one rule that stands above the rest — LOVE.
📖 The Greatest Commandment
In Matthew 22:36-40, a Pharisee asked Jesus:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus answered:
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Let that sink in. All the laws — every rule given through Moses, every principle taught by the prophets — hang on love. Jesus wasn’t cancelling the law. He was clarifying its purpose. Love is the foundation, the core, and the connector.
🔧 Love Powers Everything
Just like a distribution board connects and feeds power to every circuit in a building, love is the source that powers every other command.
If you love God, you’ll honour Him.
If you love your neighbor, you won’t steal, lie, or harm.
Love isn’t a soft or optional virtue — it’s the core wiring of a believer’s life.
💡 Jesus' Example
Jesus didn’t just talk about love. He demonstrated it — healing the sick, touching the untouchable, forgiving sinners, and washing the feet of the very ones who would deny Him.
In John 13:34-35, He tells His disciples:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
This love is not passive. It's active, sacrificial, and humble — a love that flows through action, not just intention.
🔌 How Can We Live It Today?
As electricians, contractors, and professionals in a tough industry, we’re constantly navigating pressure, conflict, and competition. But here’s the challenge: Let love lead.
-
Love your clients enough to do your work with honesty.
-
Love your coworkers enough to help them grow.
-
Love your family enough to come home safe and present.
-
Love God enough to represent Him well in all you do.
🧰 Final Thoughts
Rules without love become cold. Love without truth becomes vague. But when you walk in love — the kind Jesus taught and lived — you fulfill every other requirement without even trying.
Let’s wire our week with love. Power up with the greatest rule of all — and watch how it lights up every area of your life.
This Week’s Scripture Focus:
