Time to Rest – Physically and Spiritually

Time to Rest – Physically and Spiritually

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." – Matthew 11:28

As the holiday season approaches, many of us feel the wear and tear of a busy year. The long hours, the challenging projects, and the weight of responsibilities can take their toll. This week, let’s focus on the gift of rest—not just for our bodies, but for our souls.

Why Rest is Essential

  1. Physical Rest Recharges You. Just like tools need maintenance, your body needs downtime to operate at its best. Rest prevents burnout, improves focus, and restores energy.
  2. Spiritual Rest Centers You. True rest isn’t just about taking a break from work; it’s about reconnecting with God. In Him, we find peace that renews our spirit and reminds us of His care.

The Power of Spiritual Rest

When Jesus invites us to come to Him for rest, He’s offering more than a physical pause—He’s offering a release from the burdens of worry, guilt, and striving. This season, take time to:

  • Pray. Lay your burdens before God and let Him fill you with His peace.
  • Reflect. Look back on the year and see how God has guided you.
  • Recharge. Spend quiet moments in His presence, letting His Word renew your mind.

A Call to Rest

As electricians, your work lights up homes and lives. But to keep shining, you must also recharge your own light. This week, find time to rest—not just on the couch, but in the presence of the One who gives true peace.

Remember: You don’t have to carry everything alone. God is with you, offering strength and renewal.

A Prayer for Rest

"Lord, as we approach the holidays, remind us of the rest You offer. Help us to pause and reflect, to release our worries, and to trust in Your perfect plan. Renew our strength and refresh our spirits. Amen."
