Walk Worthy of Your Calling – A Message to Every Electrician
Every week brings new work orders, new challenges, and new installations… but it also brings an opportunity to reset your mind, refocus your heart, and recommit to the calling God has placed on your life.
Today’s message is simple, yet powerful:
Walk worthy of your calling.
This is not just a motivational phrase — it is a biblical command.
📖 “I… urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.” – Ephesians 4:1
Electricians carry a rare blend of practical skill and life-preserving responsibility. Every day, you work with something unseen — electricity — yet its impact is felt in every home, business, hospital, and family across the nation. That is not just a job. That is a calling.
1️⃣ You Are Called With Purpose
Before anyone trusted you with a DB board or a COC, God called you by name.
He equipped you with a mind to understand problem-solving…
Hands able to work with precision…
And the strength to handle long days, heavy tools, and difficult tasks.
Don’t underestimate your role in this world.
You carry light — literally and spiritually.
📖 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand.” – Ephesians 2:10
Walking worthy begins with recognising your work as part of God’s design for your life.
2️⃣ Walk Worthy by Working With Excellence
In the electrical field, shortcuts can cost lives.
COCs require integrity.
Wiring demands focus.
Testing needs honesty.
When you operate with excellence, you are not just doing your job well —
You are honouring God.
📖 “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” – Colossians 3:23
Whether you’re pulling cable in a ceiling, calculating volt-drop, or installing a new solar system — let your excellence reflect the One who called you.
Your calling deserves nothing less.
3️⃣ Walk Worthy by Living With Character
A worthy walk is not only seen in your work — it is seen in your character.
Paul continues the instruction in Ephesians:
📖 “Be humble and gentle. Be patient, bearing with one another in love.” – Ephesians 4:2
In a high-pressure industry like ours, this matters even more:
• When a client complains…
• When a supplier delays…
• When an apprentice is slow to learn…
• When the job runs behind schedule…
Your reaction reveals your walk.
A worthy walk means choosing patience over anger, humility over pride, and grace over frustration.
4️⃣ Walk Worthy by Guarding Your Unity
Electricians stand stronger together.
Unity in this industry protects the younger ones, strengthens the experienced ones, and honours God.
Tearing each other down destroys the craft.
Lifting each other up strengthens the calling.
📖 “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:3
When you encourage another electrician, you yourself walk worthy.
5️⃣ Walk Worthy by Letting Your Light Shine
Your calling doesn’t end when you clock out.
Your testimony continues at home, on-site, on the road, and in every conversation.
Jesus said:
📖 “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
So, shine — even in the small unseen moments:
✔ Choosing honesty
✔ Helping a struggling colleague
✔ Doing the job right the first time
✔ Treating people with respect
✔ Keeping your faith strong
This is walking worthy.
A Final Word for This Week
Electrician, you are more important than you know.
You bring power, light, safety, order, and peace to countless people — often without recognition.
But God sees.
God knows.
God calls.
So this week:
Walk worthy of your calling.
Not just as an electrician,
but as a child of God — chosen, equipped, and empowered.
May you work safely, shine brightly, and walk boldly in the purpose He has set before you.
Have a blessed week! ⚡🙏
